The new year rolled around and brought new rules for VAT on digital goods. The rules are
batshit crazy somewhat complicated and I won’t even try to summarize them and add more confusion.
But I will mirror this version of a page from the European Commission with helpful examples that removed those examples sometime in the last two weeks.
These examples also may or may not be contained in the 92 page “Explanatory Notes” document which also is a fun read if you run any kind of business in the EU. (This excludes sales of christmas trees – in that case you’re just royally screwed)
